Jordan Love will not be returning to Athens next season.

The redshirt sophomore cornerback from Glen Allen, Va. will transfer from the Bulldogs’ football program to try to continue his career elsewhere.

Love Tweeted on Saturday evening that, “It’s been real Athens. . . . All good things come to an end.”

Georgia sports information director/associate athletic director Claude Felton confirmed that Love would be transferring to reporters covering the Georgia men’s basketball game against Alabama on Saturday night.

Gentry Estes of Dawgs247.com was able to catch up with Love, who kept his comments short on the matter.

“I don’t want to say anything about it right now,” Love told Estes. “When I get everything together I’ll let y’all know.”

Love appeared in 21 games as a Bulldog, playing in all 13 of Georgia’s games in 2010 and notching nine tackles.

This season, Love played in eight games  — which included one start — and tallied 12 tackles, appearing mostly as a corner in nickel and dime packages as well as taking part on special teams.

Love joins graduating senior Brandon Boykin as players the Bulldogs will lose from their secondary, though juniors Bacarri Rambo, Branden Smith and Shawn Williams are thought to be considering leaving early to enter the NFL Draft.
