University student arrested for possession of marijuana, alcohol after egging a car
A University student was arrested on charges of possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol on Sunday, according to an Athens-Clarke County Police report.
Officers were dispatched on reports of a car being egged from an upstairs window of The Georgian apartments. The officers arrived on the scene to find Alexander Worth McAlister, Jr., 19, on the third floor of the building. He admitted to being one of the people who threw the eggs, according to the report.
The officers “could immediately notice that McAlister was under the influence of alcohol” due to slurred speech and the smell of alcohol on his breath. The officers confirmed that McAlister was underage by checking his ID.
McAlister then let the officers into his apartment, where they noticed “a large amount of alcohol in the living area along with numerous Ziploc baggies of marijuana,” according to the report. A large vaporizer “used for the consumption of marijuana” was also found in the room.
McAlister admitted to owning all of the alcohol and marijuana. He was placed under arrest and transported to Clarke County Jail.
McAlister could not be reached for comment.
