As a graduating senior applying to graduate schools outside of the United States, I’ve been hit pretty hard by the sharp increase in transcript fees.

The fee to send a transcript to an international address from the University is the standard $8 charge plus an additional $80 fee for shipping.

Simply sending my transcript to two graduate schools in Canada has cost me a grand total of $176.

That’s almost as much as the cost for both of my application fees.

Perhaps the new software program makes things more efficient for the University staff, but this is absolutely ridiculous.
