Three students beaten on North Campus

By on February 2, 2012

Three University students were beaten by a single individual Saturday morning on North Campus.

The three male University students were walking to their ride in the North Campus Parking Deck, when an unknown male approached them and asked them for a ride home, according to the police report.

The three students denied the unknown male a ride and were then beaten by him, according to the report.

One victim sustained a small cut on his right hand, one victim sustained visible injury to the face and the other victim had no visible injuries.

Chief of University Police Jimmy Williamson told the Red & Black it was not clear who had originally attacked who.

“From talking with these parties, it is unclear to the police who started the situation,” he said.

It was either a case of one person defending himself or three people being attacked by one, Williamson said.

He said no one was being specifically targeted and alcohol was involved.
