Fox has ‘not talked’ to dismissed Bulldog Marshall
With the dismissal of three Georgia freshmen football players — Nick Marshall, Chris Sanders and Sanford Seay — from the school, speculation on Marshall’s future have already begun.
But Georgia head coach Mark Fox does not see a future with his team that involves Marshall, a player Fox recruited back in high school to play basketball.
“[No], I have not talked to Nick at all,” Fox said. “It’s disappointing when something like this happens but I have not talked to him.”
Marshall, who played guard at Wilcox County High School, was not expected to join the basketball team this year due to its already crowded frontcourt, a decision now likely to not change.
“I don’t know what his plans are,” Fox said. “He was a guy on a football scholarship and we do not have a basketball scholarship for him. So I would think that would probably dictate he would go somewhere else.”
Marshall finished the 2011 football season with five tackles while spending most of his time on special teams.
