Crime Notebook: University student victim of theft after argument
A University student’s property was stolen Saturday night by her ex-boyfriend after they had an argument in her dorm room, according to the police report.
The victim’s laptop, iPod and keys were taken from her room in building 1516.
When police arrived, the victim said she and her ex-boyfriend had an argument in her room and she had felt threatened, according to the report.
The argument had occurred earlier that evening, and the suspect left with her property, according to the report.
The items were returned a short time later.
Police spoke to the suspect at his residence. He was subsequently barred from the fourth floor of the building for four months, according to the report.
The relationship between the victim and the suspect did not meet the criteria for domestic violence, and the victim signed a prosecution refusal, closing the case.
Student charged with fake ID after losing wallet
A University student was arrested Friday night in Brumby Hall and charged with possession of a fake ID, confiscated property and underage possession of alcohol, according to the University police report.
Frank Martin Flournoy, 19, was arrested in Brumby after his wallet was turned in to a desk assistant.
Police noticed two IDs in the wallet. One license belonged to Flournoy, and one was a fake Florida license with bad image quality, according to the report.
Flournoy was contacted by police and met the officers in the Brumby lobby.
The officers gave Flournoy back his wallet and asked him about the fake Florida ID. Flournoy said since the license was in his possession he guessed it belonged to him, according to the report.
He was then placed under arrested for the fake ID.
But when he was searched, the officer found a multicolored, polka dotted flask containing alcohol inside Flournoy’s jacket pocket.
Flournoy said the flask was not his and the jacket was also not his, according to the report.
He was then charged with underage possession of alcohol and taken to Athens-Clarke County jail.
