MCG lease approved by Regents

The University System of Georgia Board of Regents approved on Wednesday a 25-year lease-purchase agreement for the satellite campus of the Medical College of Georgia.
The Board authorized the University and MCG to spend $25 million to lease the O’Malley building from the University Real Estate Foundation.
University attempts to decrease gas usage

With the rising prices of unleaded and diesel gasoline, University departments are taking steps to increase efficiency, cut usage and keep a careful eye on their budgets.
Ron Hamlin, University Campus Transit System’s manager, said the effect of rising fuel prices is “very dramatic,” with campus transit using an average of 1,200 gallons to provide service during the summer.
