The contents of my refrigerator are as follows: orange juice, Coke, hummus, soy milk, salad dressing, a depressing lack of lettuce and some jam. Oh, and in the bottom right corner, tucked behind the jug of orange juice: a partially eaten pan of vegan macaroni and cheese.

If the films in the Saw series were scattered with song-and-dance numbers, it might feel a little like Repo! The Genetic Opera, which opens tonight at Ciné.

In fact, Darren Lynn Bousman, the director behind Saw II, III and IV, did take the helm in Repo!. His penchant for gore is well-placed – trailers for Repo! appear even bloodier than last winter’s other slasher-musical hybrid Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

We’re all guilty of something. Sure, for some, it’s a bit more serious (like armed robbery), but for most of us, the crime is one of taste, not federal law. “Passover is the holiday that celebrates the exodus from Egypt, and it also commemorates the spring harvest,” said Rabbi Justin Kerber, 38, director of Hillel at the University.

There is a low buzz centered around room 112 of Dawson Hall. Girls in long dresses, short dresses, wide-leg pants, skinny jeans and high heels teeter and stomp their way around, waiting for the stylists to decide what looks best. They move from room 112, the evening’s designated dressing room, to the hallway where pictures are snapped.

In the final scene of the Oscar-nominated film “Juno,” Paulie Bleeker and Juno MacGuff sit down to play their guitars and sing together. The song that actors Michael Cera and Ellen Page play is a cover of The Moldy Peaches’ “Anyone Else But You.” First released in 2001, the song and the group have been tugged into the spotlight thanks to the hit film.
