The travel itinerary in my e-mail reads, “Athens to Washington Dulles International Airport.” Thanksgiving is still a week away, but I try to picture what will happen. It’s been over a year since I’ve seen my Dad, and last time we got into a fight. He came to pick me up at the airport.

A stocky man in his 20s walked into our video game store. I recognized him as one of our regular customers, but he wasn’t with his father. They always came together to buy Grand Theft Auto or Ghost Recon. But this afternoon he walked up to my register alone.

Do you think it’s fun to have sex with animals, corpses and children? According to Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, if you’re homosexual, you might as well. Gohmert battled other state representatives in Congress over the Defense Authorizations bill, not because of military spending, but because it included the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr.

Cost is true challenge of pet ownership

My second cat was five months old when I adopted her. That tiny, fluffy kitten with big ears was irresistible. I only paid $75 for her initially, but by the end of the month she had cost over $500 in booster shots, eye medication, Revolution heartworm medication and other vet bills.
