We are now officially in the midst of yet another glorious season of UGA football, and as with any other significant time of the year, it is absolutely imperative to completely succumb to the excitement and spirit of said season.
After all, next to Christmas, football tends to be one the most celebrated events in our Southern culture – and honestly, how can you help but inhale the overwhelming sense of Bulldog pride exemplified in the flourish of red and black that invades Athens on any given game day Saturday?
I find that the highlights of an Athenian Autumn generally fall into three, equally vital categories: football, fellowship and food.

(for a single omelet)
2 large eggs
� cup diced ham
� cup pineapple tidbits
1 tbsp cream cheese, softened
1/8 cup diced red onion
Salt and pepper
1 medium sized Ziploc bag
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, ham, pineapple, cream cheese, onion, and a pinch of salt and pepper until thoroughly combined.

Although the particular recipe of choice varies amongst individuals, “comfort foods” are defined as the magical dishes which, with the first mouthful, infuses the diner with warmth, memories and an overall sense of well-being. And as we embark upon the initial chaos of fall semester, who doesn’t need a bite of comfort?
Although whipping up a single serving of Mom’s homemade lasagna in your dorm or apartment kitchen may not exactly be convenient, there is absolutely no reason any college student should be denied the consoling sensations that the preparation and devouring of such delicacies provides.
