On Oct. 8, 1988, the 79,431 fans present in Death Valley for the classic showdown between rivals LSU and Auburn shook the ground.
After a touchdown late in the fourth quarter gave LSU a 7-6 lead, the crowd’s reaction was so loud it registered a rating on a seismograph located about 1,000 feet from the stadium.
