Be wary when parking so not to get ticketed

Although the campus encompasses a vast amount of land, not much of that land is allocated for parking. Any new student should know the basic rules and regulations of the Parking Services.
First, any student seeking a parking spot must register online at the Parking Services Web site.
Interns study ‘rare’ sperm whale specimen

Four student interns with the Georgia Museum of Natural History are reconstructing the skeletal remains of a pygmy sperm whale as part of an upper level anthropology internship.
The skeleton of the small whale species was originally discovered in 1987, but had yet to be reassembled and researched until the interns took on the project for course credit.
New Media Institute travels to Philly for HIV testing campaign

A new marketing concept can help combat the spread of HIV/AIDS, thanks to collaboration between the New Media Institute in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, Verizon Wireless and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Several students enrolled in New Media Institute courses offered through the Grady College traveled to Philadelphia on April 23 and 24.
Gene therapy research may lead to trustworthy remedies

A promising advancement in the field of gene therapy research, conducted by Yan Geng, assistant professor of chemistry, may lead to a safer method to treat genetic defects and diseases such as cancer.
Gene therapy uses viruses encoded with alternate genetic information to change harmful genes that cause diseases.
