Fall 2008 will be the last semester University students can log onto WebCT accounts. After that, the University will use a new learning management system, although which system is still unclear.
“We’re investigating learning management systems in general, as to what’s the best direction to go toward in the future,” said Bert DeSimone, IT associate director.

An in-depth report of the Emergency Preparedness and Communications Committee was issued Tuesday with an analysis of the University’s emergency programs and a list of 16 recommendations. University President Michael Adams commissioned the establishment of the EPCC and the comprehensive safety report in May 2007 following the April 16 tragedy at Virginia Tech, according to a report sent to student e-mail accounts.

Police punish jaywalkers

An increasing number of University students are learning pedestrians do not always have the right-of-way when crossing the streets – with up to a $90 citation. Since last week, police said they have been issuing citations for jaywalking – or “failure for pedestrian to yield the right of way” – at several intersections on campus.

University students can use two databases to choose classes this fall -SGA’s Key and a student-run counterpart.
SGA compiles statistics obtained from the Office of Institutional Research and maintains the Key on their Web site.

International festival visits Athens streets
