The University Athletic Association is helping conserve water during home football games by adhering to the old adage “If it’s yellow let it mellow.

Medical College of Georgia seeks growth potential around Athens

A firm will get $332,000 to research expanding the campuses of the Medical College of Georgia’s School of Medicine – especially in Athens.

Tripp Umbach, a Pittsburgh medical school expansion firm, was selected to develop a five-year plan to increase MCG School of Medicine’s class size from 190 to approximately 245 students, according to a news release.

Anti-HIV drug license sold

In a near million-dollar agreement, an Atlanta-based biopharmaceutical company purchased the licensing rights to anti-HIV compounds from the University and promised to fund future related research at the University.

Inhibitex, Inc. announced Tuesday it owns the license for a group of anti-HIV compounds developed by University scientists, according to a news release.

The average college student has three credit cards and $2,700 of personal debt when they graduate.
