The University equestrian team finished the season in third place overall this weekend at the Varsity Equestrian National Championships in Waco, Texas.
In the English division against South Carolina for the championship, Georgia finished in second place after a 6-2 loss.

The University equestrian team takes hold of the reins this afternoon to compete in the Varsity Equestrian National Championships in Waco, Texas.
The team comes into the competition as the No. 1 overall seed after earning the title of Southern Equestrian Champions at its previous postseason competition.

Hoping to defend the title for the third consecutive year, the University equestrian team will head to Auburn this weekend to compete in the Southern Equestrian Championship.

The Georgia equestrian team finished up its regular season with a 10-4 win over Southern Methodist University in the English-only competition Saturday at the Animal Science Arena.
“I was very happy to end the regular season this way. We had a lot of very, very strong rides,” said head coach Meghan Boenig.

The Georgia equestrian team mounted its horses on a chilly Saturday afternoon to defeat the defending national champion Auburn Tigers 14-6.
Georgia equestrian won all four events in its first home meet of the spring season. The Bulldogs have not lost at home since 2003 and now are 2-0 against the Tigers this season.
