It didn’t take very long for Georgia head baseball coach David Perno to start reaping the benefits of his team’s second-place finish in Omaha. Less than a week after returning from the College World Series, Perno signed to a five-year extension worth $2.25 million, keeping him at his alma mater through the 2013 season, Athletic Director Damon Evans announced Wednesday.
Univ. swimmers qualify for Olympics

Three current Georgia swimmers and one future swimmer have made Olympic teams for the 2008 summer games in Beijing, China.
Neil Versfeld, Troyden Prinsloo, and Wendy
Trott will represent South Africa while Sebastien Rouault will represent France in the summer games from Aug.
Outdoor program plans for recreational trips

University students are able to kayak, canoe, hang glide and more through the Ramsey Center’s Georgia Outdoor Recreation Program.
The GORP program consists of four components: the challenge course, the climbing wall at Ramsey, the Outdoor Recreation Center at the intramural fields and outdoor trips.
