Faculty complains about gender pay inequality

More than 100 faculty members signed a letter of complaint against a report that congratulated the University on beating the national average for female faculty pay.

The letter said the University shouldn’t rejoice because University women still are paid less than men.

A Christian fraternity filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday against University administrators and the Board of Regents.

The fraternity, Beta Upsilon Chi, or BYX, alleges the University did not let the group register on campus because members are selected on the basis of religion.

IM fields intact after tailgating

The intramural fields will likely will be used again next football season as a parking place for tailgaters’ cars.

“We anticipate we will be” using the fields in Fall 2007, subject to approval by the Office for Student Affairs, said George Stafford, associate vice president for Auxiliary and Administrative Services.
