Drink coffee throughout the day? Crave chocolate candies and a never-ending supply of soft drinks? Ever try to cut back on your caffeine intake and experience withdrawal that include headaches, irritability or increased anxiety? If you answered yes to any, or all, of these questions then you may be addicted to caffeine. Caffeine is an [...]

Christmas time is here igniting a giving spirit amongst us all – question is, whom should we give to? This question does not apply to the obvious – the extended family to which we give our love in the form of hugs and Christmas cards, to the siblings we wrap up our ever so thoughtful $20 gift card, and for Mom and Pop, we spring for the extra long-lasting scented candle and a fancy, engraved ball-point pen.

Time to get superficial, because let’s face it, when it comes to physical attraction we all have our weaknesses. For instance, he only likes them tall, while that guy only dates the wind swept brunettes. She goes after the shaggy blondes, but that girl can’t get enough of the ultimate six-pack.

Need to impress someone that lives clear across the world?

Sex. We all have it. We all like it. So why not watch it? That thought struck me in my human sexuality class the other day when the professor pressed the play button. What did we see on the overhead screen? A ’70s pornography film. Shocking, right? Not to me.

There is a way around every cop, but when it comes to a traffic ticket, honesty is not the best policy. I used to think that every officer was out to get me, just to fulfill his daily quota of traffic tickets. But, after so many times of getting pulled over for basic traffic violations – speeding, running red lights or driving too close to someone – I have finally begun to realize the art of getting out of a traffic ticket.

Like, what’s the deal with overusing ‘like’

Like, what Sigmund Freud meant by his theory of dreams was that, like, dreams are, like, spy holes into our unconscious mind. Count the number of “likes” in the sentence above. Now, how often do you think that same thought while listening to your friends and peers speak their mind? I was sitting in class the other day with another gnawing headache caused by the overuse of the word “like” by my peers when a professor finally called out a frequent user in a subtle and humorous way.

Sex in the Classic City: Remember the sweet instead of the bitter

The quintessential truth is that we are all bound and determined to be in love. But what happens after the first love, the second love and then the third love doesn’t work out? Heartache. Sadness. Anger. As bittersweet as a breakup with someone we love can be, it is the sweet we need to remember, not the bitter.

Try recycling when tailgating

What will you do with this paper when you’re done reading it? How about recycling it? I once thought that to go green, I would have to convince Mother Nature to adopt me, cleanse me of my sins and renew me as her very own organic recycle maniac. Being as fond of Mother Nature as I am, my 2007 New Year’s Resolution was to become environmentally friendly.
