“I was born to sing and dance!” belted the students of Soundfx class at Dancefx studios during practice.
Continuing with a Broadway-styled dance adorned with plenty of kicks and jazz hands, the elementary school-aged students practiced a dramatic interpretation of “I Feel Pretty” from the musical “West Side Story.
Event raises sexual assault awareness

According to the Sexual Assault Center of Northeast Georgia, 87 percent of women raped know their attackers.
Thursday, Take Back the Night will bring awareness to the issues of sexual and domestic violence. Tabling groups include Project Safe, the Jeanette Rankin Foundation, Feminist Outlaws, Lambda Alliance, Women’s Studies Student Organization and the Office for Violence Prevention.

The name suggests an alternative route from the norm or a different approach to the same goal. Detour, the newest bar in Athens, offers students a large venue plus a gay-friendly atmosphere.
Located on the corner of Dougherty and Hull streets, one may have to make a detour just to get to the bar, but once there, students have commented favorably on the large dance floor, the extensive bar and the accepting vibe of students eager to have a good time.
