She is a finalist in the “Smile Bright in the Spotlight” contest, a nationwide search for someone with the confidence to smile in the spotlight at the People’s Awards show. “I was checking out the nominees online for the 2008 People’s Choice Awards and ran across an ad for the contest,” said Dempsey, a marketing major from Atlanta.
Local art sale assists homeless

Most don’t challenge this notion – but some, including a University graduate, look to merge the two through the art of dance. Ela Lamblin and Leah Mann have been performing for 11 years in the performance company they founded – Lelavision, which, beginning tonight, brings its original, “hybrid” form of “physical music” to the University’s New Dance Theatre.
