Sometimes, wins and losses don’t tell the whole story.
For the Georgia volleyball team, this season was about fixing something that looked like a wreck just one year ago.
Following a 6-25 campaign, little was expected of the Bulldogs in 2007 as the team welcomed in a new coach and a plethora of new players.

With the season hanging in the balance, Georgia volleyball (17-13, 8-12) may have fallen off the cliff.
Needing wins in its final two games to have a chance to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2004, the team came up flat this weekend. While on the road, Georgia was run over by LSU and Ole Miss.

You can learn a lot about a team when its back is against the wall.
The Georgia volleyball team entered the weekend with losses in its last three matches and had dropped six of its last seven matches – it’s amazing what one weekend can do for a team.
Playing perhaps their best volleyball of the season, the Bulldogs (16-10, 7-9) won two matches over the weekend, sweeping SEC West opponents Alabama and Mississippi State in Athens.

With a chance to go over .500 in conference play with a perfect weekend, the Georgia volleyball team played two home matches in an attempt to raise up the standings in the SEC.
One out of two wins would have to do.
In Friday’s match, the Bulldogs (14-8, 5-7) were pushed to the limit by South Carolina in a five-game match.

The road to victory has been hard to find of late for the Georgia volleyball team. Hoping to break a three-match losing streak, the team will host South Carolina and Florida this weekend in Athens. The Bulldogs (13-7, 4-6 SEC) have lost consecutive games to conference opponents Arkansas, Mississippi State and Alabama.

Georgia volleyball had a chance to climb up the SEC standings with a sweep of this weekend’s road matches against Mississippi State and Alabama. Instead, the Bulldogs were the ones feeling the wrath of the broom. The Bulldogs (13-7, 4-6) were beaten by both teams by identical 3-1 scores.

With its five-game home stand over, the Georgia volleyball team hit the road in Fayetteville in search of its second conference road win of the season – mission unaccomplished.
The Bulldogs (13-5, 4-4) dropped the first two games of their match against Arkansas (8-10, 2-6) before rallying to force a fifth and deciding game, which was won by the Razorbacks.
