Course burdens dual-degree students

Graduating seniors’ e-mail accounts are flooded with messages. Buy this, buy that – cap and gown, announcements, class ring. Pick up tickets, confirm your degree, check your library fee balance, donate money to the University. As a sixth-year senior at UGA double majoring in journalism and fine art photography, I have been inundated with these e-mails.
Food services should lower meal costs

For most students on campus at meal times, the four dining halls are the closest and most convenient places to grab a quick meal. That is if you have $10 to cough up for lunch or $14.45 for a dinner. These prices are not astronomical, but not budget friendly either for students with small incomes.
Recycling saves more than trees

Despite having the phrase “reduce, reuse, recycle” drilled into my brain since grade school, I often throw recyclable materials away instead of taking time to recycle. However, this semester I decided to change that. As a journalism student I read multiples newspapers each day.
Married students have fun too

Here’s some news for you single students: we married students aren’t stuffy old fogies who stay home every night. We can have a little fun too. I have been married for four years, and I have a 3-year-old little boy. But I can still hit Broad Street on Saturday night, even without my husband.
