Health center embraces appointment system

Eight weeks after the University Health Center implemented a new appointment system, students, physicians and nurses express overall positive reactions to the change.

The new system assigns every student to a primary clinician who is a member of a medical team.

Baseball player arrested, charged

A University baseball player was arrested Saturday and charged with underage consumption/possession of alcohol, according to a police report.

Matthew Stephen Cerione, a junior from Alpharetta, who is the starting centerfielder for the Diamond Dogs, was also charged with unlawful use of ID, open container and littering.

Student charged with felony aggravated assault (w/police report)

A University student was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault early Saturday, after he choked and bit a female friend, according to an Athens-Clarke County police report.

Benjamin George Eglinger, 23, assaulted Desiree Michael, 21, at his residence at North Avenue Apartments, according to a police report.

Two University students are playing their parts in the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minn. this week.

Jade Morey, a junior from Smyrna, was elected alternate delegate on the district level to attend the Republican National Convention.

Creswell Hall features Braille paneling

Creswell Hall now has Braille paneling for every room number and for its employees due to the efforts of a Student Government Association senator.

A conversation with a vision-impaired Creswell resident sparked the idea, Josh Delaney, a Franklin senator and sophomore from Fairburn, said.
