I was born in 1987. That’s five years after Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” was released. I didn’t see the premiere of the moonwalk, and, although I listened to Michael Jackson’s music growing up, I wouldn’t refer to it as the “soundtrack of my childhood.” I wasn’t around for the birth of MTV and its subsequent evolution – an evolution greatly aided by Michael Jackson.

Spoiled studentsStudents need to realize lots of effort does not necessarily equal a high grade. “If I do the work and go to class, I deserve an A.” Such is the mantra of our entitled – and somewhat spoiled – generation. Now that the fanfare of last week’s historic inauguration has died down, I’d like to draw everyone’s attention to another matter of importance. The First Lady. Michelle Obama is a strong, capable, career-minded woman whose children are No. 1 on her list of priorities.

Back up the rulesWe do not agree with the Less Safe rule, but the state should enforce its own laws We’re all familiar with “Over the limit, under arrest” — that catchy phrase advocated by the state of Georgia warning us not to drive drunk. But what about “under the limit, under arrest?” Joseph Fu, the head of the University’s mathematics department, was charged in August with DUI under the Less Safe process.

This one’s for all my fellow commitment-phobes out there. Let’s get something right out into the open: I haven’t been in a relationship that’s lasted more than a year. I haven’t found the person I’m head-over-heels, want-to-spend-the-rest-of-my-life-with in love with.

The end of an era An open letter from The R&B to two of Georgia’s soon-to-be-rich players Dear Matthew and Knowshon, We heard the news. You’re leaving us. Of course, we’re not happy about it. We had fantasies of you two returning for another season, leading us to a blowout victory over those goons from [...]
