Parking Services clinic teaches vehicle safety

Though sand and surf may be on many minds as the University community readies for Spring Break, driving safety should be key when planning trips. To offset the number of accidents that could occur, Parking Services hosted a SafeDrive event Thursday.
Students and University faculty members brought their cars to have them checked for maintenance.

An insurance company filed a complaint in federal court asking not to compensate the University in response to a lawsuit filed by a former Georgia track star alleging negligence by the University.
New state gun laws receive mixed reactions

The Georgia Legislature enacted a bill last week that allows gun owners with a permit to bring concealed guns, such as hand guns or pistols, into state and historic parks, public transportation and restaurants that serve alcohol.
Although gun owners cannot drink alcohol while carrying their guns in restaurants, the new law has received mixed response from restaurant managers here in Athens.
