English department questions controversially high ranking

Despite recently receiving a top ranking, some English Department faculty said they are skeptical of the Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index.
The Index, produced by Academic Analytics and released last week, ranked the University’s English doctoral program second in the country, behind only Princeton and ahead of Penn State, Stanford and UC-Berkeley.
